Today Beadsaholic brings a review of this year’s People’s Bead Dancing Dragons by Trollbeads!
Trollbeads Dancing Dragons is a beautiful bead full of fire and romance, with two dragons flowing, twisting and dancing together. The design is a tad bit abstract and each dragon flows well together. This bead is on the smaller side hence the price point of $31; however, I love Trollbeads smaller silvers. As you can see further down in this article the size is similar to Trollbeads Autumn Splendor. For me, this bead will find a home on my Anniversary bracelet of Trollbeads pearls and small silvers I will share once it is finished.
As many of you probably know by now that Dancing Dragons was designed by Lily Sun, which won this year’s Trollbeads People’s Bead Contest. If you would like to read more about the artist, you may do so by clicking here. Trollbeads Dancing Dragons comes in all silver which retails for $31 / €28 / £25 and in a two-tone that retails for $345 / €315 / £252.
I have taken a few up-close photos to show the details of the dragons.
To me this bead symbolizes love and balance.
I love how the tail twist around to the wings.
Love is friendship set on fire. ~ Jeremy Taylor
A romantic dance ending in a kiss.
Fire from within – I wanted to take cool colors and add a little fire. I chose Labradorite, Sapphire, Blue Tiger Eye and Red Bubbles.
In this combination I decided to go more organic with Brown/Yellow chalcedony, Golden Rutilated Quartz, Cat’s Eye Quartz and Calcite Rock.
I am totally in love with the Autumn release from Trollbeads and adore the combination of Willow Twigs, Forest Mist, Marble, Dancing Dragons and Autumn Splendor. In this photo you can see the size of Dancing dragons compares to that of Autumn Splendor. This should give many Trollbeads Collectors an idea of size.
Of course, I felt the need to do a combination of Autumn with all Trollbeads Stones starring in this combination! Starting at the top Smoky Quartz, Brown/Yellow chalcedony, Autumn Splendor, Hessonite Garnet, Calcite Rock, Cat’s Eye Quartz, Dancing Dragons, Brown/Yellow chalcedony, Golden Rutilated Quartz and finishing with the Trunk of Treasures Lock.
Over all, I love this bead. I know by reading on social media some feel that it is on the smaller side; however, in this price range I know most of us knew it would be, but I think that is part of its charm. It will fit well anywhere on a bracelet with the shape and design of the bead, which is great for those who have a need for balance in their designs. I think this design will also fit well with Game of Thrones themes. Really, combinations are endless.
