Beadmas Day 8 Giveaway! Winner Announced.

The Winner is..

Today here on Beadsholic is Beadmas Day 8 and that means giveaway time!!!

Today one lucky random winner will win Ohm Beads Dirty Short Circuit.

Every year my family and I always watch The Great Christmas Light Fight! We always love to watch all the extravagant Christmas displays and we usually ride around town to some of the massive displays we have here. We roll the windows down, with our blankets, hot chocolate and Christmas music playing while looking at beautiful light displays. Below is a few from last year.

Though we love seeing all the lights we don’t normally do much decorating on the outside of our home, we do however decorate the inside. We always put up a tree, handmade Christmas items that sit around always makes our Christmas magical for us. What are your decorating Traditions? Do you do big displays outside or enjoy visiting houses that have huge displays. Do you use colored or white lights? What style of decorating is a tradition in your home? Comment below for a random chance to win an Ohm Dirty Short Circuit!

  4. I take out my 9 pronged candelabra. I have an awesome one that’s a ceramic interpretation of NYC, including the twin towers, but I haven’t used it since I started using my late grandmother’s. The first night I light one candle and use it to light another. Each night I light one more candle, until on the 8th night I have 9 beautiful lights glowing.

  6. I did not grow up with christmas traditions so have no ingrained traditions, but every year everyone including my 11 and 6 year old for the past 4 years have made their own hand blown glass ornaments. We now have enough to cover the tree.

  9. we are similar. we don’t do too much decorating outside, unless some time frees up, but I sure do decorate inside. I grew up with my Mum loving tradition Christmas colors and have tried non traditional and always come back to the red, green and gold, as it just feels perfect. Each year it’s normally a contest between mum and I on who has the tree up first. With my boyfriend, my brother and my dad making fun of us. I generally win as it takes too long for dad to get there’s out of the attic hehe. Oh and poinsettias are a MUST HAVE for us. The more the merrier haha

  10. We decorate inside ^___^
Some reindeer appear like magic all over our living areas, along with santa, various signs / wall hangings with Christmas greetings are put up on the walls and entrances. We have huge pretend Christmas ornaments that look like real presents…. they are normally the centre piece for our dining table with a string of mini pretend presents, candles and some tinsel woven around.

One of my favourite Christmas traditions is driving around to see everyones beautiful lights! It makes me feel like a little kid again. However we have ice water and air conditiong on while we drive around looking! Lol nothing like a scortching Aussie Christmas

  12. I light the big red Star of the East on my balcony yearly. Apart from the usual wreath I hang on my front door, I do the traditional Indian Rangooli in front of main door. Arrange on it specially designed clay pots filled with coconut oil and wick. I lit them to spread the season of Joy. It is a symbol of welcoming guests for Indians in particular and to welcome goodness to the home. This is an age old tradition passed down from generations.

  17. I usually decorate both outside and inside, alternating between white lights and colored. I absolutely hate the new modern LED lights, especially the colored ones, but my kids love them so I begrudgingly light up the exterior in what I call “day glow” every other year. I also use “crab pot trees” on our lawn which are little cone shaped lit trees made in the Carolinas from real crab pots-Love them! This year I haven’t done much yet since we are having a baby any day now. I did finish the Christmas tree-white lights with all new plastic ornaments since my two year old kept tossing our good glass ones. We may be keeping all the glass knick knacks in storage a little longer since we already have a house full of michevious little ones.

  20. We decorated a little tree in the kids room this year so they can watch the lights until the drift off. We’re going out of town so we don’t want too many decorations up while we are away. I love driving around and seeing lights and decorations! We put a few lights around our door and a Christmas wreath! Yay!

  22. Every year, I decorate the tree with my mum. We have handmade glass pieces that my father had from his parents so pre-1930s, then my mum’s collected our childhood decorations. Then I’ve collected my Disney ones with my sister from our trips to Disney Parks or stores. I’m so scared to put the heavy ornaments, so they sit at the bottom with the gifts. During my childhood, I would run around placing tinsel everywhere! Still do, just neatly. Lol Merry Beadmas and Christmas!

  27. Every year with my children we make the Christmas tree we decorate. Balls, garlands and lights are in the tree. A rocking tree, little bears, and a star watching over each one of us. On the windows of Santa Claus stickers, snowmen and Disney characters. Ceiling suspensions and colorful garlands. On the front door a Merry Christmas suspension. We do not put anything outside, we have animals. But we often drive in the evening to look at the houses decorated outside. We take advantage, eyes full of dreams for these holidays of the end of the year.

  29. First concerning the light fight my family was on that show 3 years ago. We were picked to be in the “crowd”from our good friends that made the top 3. It was so much fun and the camera man got a full screen shot of me holding my 2 yo then. I will send you the pic. Our traditions are simple…. 2 trees. One colored one white. A lot of family heirlooms and ornaments.

  32. Our tradition is that I spend the few Christmas days at my parents home and I decorate the Christmas tree (they have to take it down themselves so they keep complaining I shouldn’t put up too much LOL). We have a collection of handmade glass bulbs we have collected all over the world over years and use real beeswax candles. Otherwise we are lazy decorators. We have a wreath with four candles though.
At my home I put up a few little things I was gifted from friends all over the world. I used to put up stars in the windows which habe a light Color and change the colorshades but my cat Stina started to chew them off the cable so I only have a few left I haven’t put up since then… 😀
