Lundd Denmark Mars Review

Today Beadsaholic brings a review of the newly released Mars by Lundd Denmark!

Henrik Lund of Lundd Denmark inspiration for this bead came from a lovely gift from his wife to be, a dedicated copy of “The Little Prince” written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry a renowned writer, poet, and aviator. Antoine de Saint-Exupéry is probably best known for this children’s book. First published in France in 1943, since it has become one of the worlds most translated books, being translated into three-hundred languages and dialects.

Lundd Denmark Mars features the planet Mars with a Baobab Tree also known as the Tree of Life growing from the top. As you may know in the book the little prince cultivates a planet, where he plants and nurtures a rose and meets a fox. In this book there are also Baobabs that grow on the planet which were considered bad seeds and must be dealt with right away.

Mars is created in sterling silver, measures roughly 13 mm tall x 12 mm wide and retails for dkk 298,00 /$49.17 (this price includes vat, please make an account to see the vat free pricing)

Though the Baobab Tree is used as a metaphoric in negative way in book of “The Little Prince”, the Baobab Tree is actually the iconic prehistoric Tree of Life, this tree is native to the African Savannah where it is extremely dry, for this reason it is a symbol of life and positivity.

“From nowhere to the universe”

“A tribute to the courageous persons daring more than most and seeking new boundaries.
Both in poetry and real life.

Here exemplified by the first Baobab-tree fra Mozambique (the cradle of mankind) planted on Mars – the planet. (quoted from the Lundd website)”

“No, no! I don’t want an elephant inside a boa constrictor. A boa constrictor is a very dangerous creature, and an elephant is very cumbersome. Where I live, everything is very small. What I need is a sheep. Draw me a sheep.” ~ The Little Prince

“And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” ~ The Little Prince

I have placed Mars as the focal in my The Little Prince combination, I have combined Trollbeads Lapis stones and glass beads along with the Redbalifrog Rose, Eske Storm four Fox, Ohm Beads Royal Elephant and Redbalifrog Snake to tell the story.

Whether you are a fan of “The Little Prince” or you just dream of being outer space, this bead is charming in whatever combination you use it in. The last couple of days I have been wearing the combination below and some of you may have seen this combo on social media today. I recently received a limited-edition Ohm Beads Gus Fink Boogily Head Cricker, which I believe works perfectly with Lundd Denmark’s Mars in this cute outer space theme.

Pictured is Trollbeads Lapis, Ohm Beads UFO, Ohm Beads Luna, Trollbeads Unique, Ohm Beads Cricker, Trollbeads Wishful Sky, Lundd Denmark Mars and another Trollbeads Lapis.

Wrist Shot!

Over all, I love this bead and think many of you will, too. I will not only use this bead to tell the story of the little prince, but I think it will go perfect in all my celestial combinations.

If you would like this bead or to browse the Lundd brand, then you may do so by clicking either of the links below. Please note that Mars is currently sold out at Perlen but is still available on the Lundd Denmark website. If you are outside of Europe both sites offer vat free shopping.

I know I had many of you asking about this bead in my combo today on Facebook and I hope you like this review. I would love to hear your thoughts on this design. Whether or not you will be ordering this bead and what combination you would use it in. So, leave me a comment below! I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

  1. Hi Paula,
I asked you a question on your Ig about this new bead and the little prince when all my answers were here. Thanks for the review I absolutely adore this bead ❤️ First the mars will go well with Luna and celestial beads and second I love the tree of life on top ( how fitting for earth day in the usa 🌳) I never read the little prince but it seems like a wondeful story . This bead is high on the wishlist

    • So glad you found the answers you were looking for here. Yes, it is the perfect bead for a celestial theme and will be a theme I’ll use it in most often. The book it’s self is a good read and of course has a moral meaning. There is also a movie about the book.
