Today Beadsaholic brings a preview of Ohm Beads Flying Dutchman!
Today we see a preview of Ohm Beads Flying Dutchman! This is a limited-edition bead, only 1600 pieces made which comes in two finishes and will be a blind bag release. Flying Dutchman will only be available at retailers in Europe and will retail for € 95 / £77
I am personally looking forward to this release. I’m sure many of you have heard of the tales of the flying Dutchman, a ship and its crew that perished during a bad storm in the early 1600’s and was condemned to be at sea forever. It is said that the ghostly looking ship glowingly appears to mariners during bad weather and roams the seven seas. There have been many stories written that date back to the late 1700.
If you have kids like me, I’m sure you have watched a few episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants, the flying dutchman is the recurring antagonist, a powerful ghost and his ship that haunt Bikini Bottom. In SpongeBob the ghost is actually named after the legendary ship, when in actuality that is the ships name. There have been several different captains named in different stories of the ghost like ship, the most famous being Captain Van der Decken.

Over all, I love the legends and stories of the Flying Dutchman and think this is such a cool bead and idea. I can see this being in many different combinations from the standard sea themes to haunted Halloween themes. The possibilities are endless. As you can see above this bead comes with special packaging which is always nice. Usually there is a big discussion of which version each of us would like, but in this case, I think either would be great.
This bead is only available in Europe, however all the retailers below ship world-wide and offer vat free shopping for those who live outside of Europe. Flying Dutchman is available for pre-order today and will release on June 5th, 2018.
