Today Beadsaholic brings the news of the 2018 People’s Bead Winner!

This year marked the 10th People’s Bead Competition and this year competitors were asked to design a bead in the theme ” I dream about..”. Members of the bead community were asked to vote for their favorite and Northern Lights Magic was this year’s winner!

I am personally anxious to see this bead in person! I can honestly say that seeing the northern lights has been on my bucket list for years and I do love the idea of this bead. I cannot wait to see how the light plays and bounces off this bead and the possibility of a glow within from the sparkles. This bead is set to release on September 7, 2018 both in store and online. Northern Lights Magic retail for $55.

This year’s Winner of the People’s Bead 2018 is Linda Kucina!

“I have a bucket list of dreams and goals and seeing the Northern lights was on the list. Last September, I went to Tromsø in Norway together with my friend, and luckily we saw very beautiful dancing Auroras two nights in a row. I made a lot of photos, but the camera sees the lights differently from the human eye, so the photos did not really show what we saw.” 

“I wanted to encapsulate my memories into something tangible, but representing the colours closer to reality, so I did several acrylic paintings of the lights playing in the sky over Tromsø. When this year’s People’s Bead contest was announced, I cropped one of my paintings to a bead shape and decided to participate just to tell myself that I have done all I could do to get the bead I wished for.”

Over all, I’m sure this is going to be a must have bead for many and I think it may end up going well with both Wishful Sky and Shimmer Royal.
