Today Beadsaholic celebrates the Chinese New Year with Ohm Beads!

February 5th, 2019 is the New Chinese Year, and this is the year of the pig. In January Ohm Beads introduced two new releases for the new year, Ohm Year of the Pig and Gong Xi Fa Cai collection. I personally wanted both releases because I was born in the year of the pig and for me these were must haves.

Ohm Beads Year of the Pig is Ohm’s forty-fourth (44) bead of the month and is limited to eight-hundred eighty-eight (888) beads. This bead has a unique design as the pig is mostly made of coins which will hopefully bring some extra good luck! Year of the pig measures approximately 11.67 mm high x 17.08 mm wide and retails for $90 / €93, euros price includes vat.

Ohm Beads Year of the Pig comes in a gold box with a certificate of authenticity.

Ohm Beads Going Xi Fa Cai is a cute gnome set that includes two orange beads and two gnomes. The orange glass is barrel shape in the same design as the previously release Ohm Strawberry bead and measures around 15 mm. Ohm Gnomes measures approximately 14.46 mm high x 8 mm wide. This set retails for $200 / €207, price in euros includes vat.

I really love how they are holding their hands and the detailing of their clothes.

All four come in a slide out box that holds four beads.

In celebration of the Chinese New Year I wanted to wear red and incorporate the new orange beads, so I added in Purple Haze and Dreamscape as well as these beads have some orange to the base color. I also added the Ohm Koi, Lucky Moves, Fortune Cookie, Golden Bu, Golden Hive Mind, Year of the Dog, Dirty Moves, Chi Chi Sticks and finished it off with a Redbalifrog Brass Rose lock.

Over all, the Year of the Pig and Ohm Beads Going Xi Fa Cai are a nice addition to my Asian themed beads, and I have been enjoying this bracelet. I am hoping for a lucky Year in the Pig!
