Today Beadsaholic brings a review of OHM Beads Clowning Around!

Releasing this Friday, October 4, 2019 at 10 am PST is the fabulous Clowning Around! This is such a fun bead that is rather versatile. It not only reminds me of the circus, clowns and carnivals, but it has a special meaning for me as a Jester’s hat that are popular during the Carnival times leading up to Mardi Gras here in the south. My husband is native to Louisiana and the culture is embedded deep within his roots and it’s one of the things I love most about the culture there.

OHM Beads has collaborated with the amazing artist Mai – Yunnacunn to create Clowning Around that will surely bring you back to your childhood. You can find Yunnacunn art here on Instagram and a mix of beads and art on her other account also on Instagram.

OHM Beads Clowning Around is a cute articulating Jester’s hat set in sterling silver. You will find four holes that will allow you multiple ways to wear this bead and three articulating balls to dangle as you move. This bead measures approximately 11.40 mm high x 12.52 mm wide, so it’s the perfect chunky bead for your bracelet or as a pendant. Clowning Around retails for $75.

I truly love the look of this bead on a Ball Necklace and I’ve been wearing it over the last week. It will work on a fantasy necklace and would be a great splitter.

I felt inspired to create a circus theme using circus colors with the OHM Slim Glass beads framing the Clowning Around. Beads I’ve used from left to right are OHM Sage, Sun, Sour, Clowning Around, Deep, Drop and Koi.

In this composition I’d thought I’d add in some fun circus themed beads with left to right: OHM Ohmpal, Royal Elephant, Birthday Cake, Clowning Around, AFAIK, Bad Girl and Thanks A Lot. As a kid I always loved seeing the elephants and I thought Bad Girl would be a nice addition with her battle axe throwing skills.

I really love the new Cascades of Color 2.0 Collection with the Clowning Around, Royal Elephant and No Evil Elephant.

I of course, had to create a Mardi Gras theme with some of the wonderful beads I received at OHM10 last year. This will for sure be on my wrist come Mardi Gras 2020! In this composition from left to right: OHM Royalty, Crown, Sage, NOLA, Mardi Gras Mask, Clowning Around, Mardi Gras Mask, Drama, Sun, I heart Louisiana and Fleur de Lis.

Overall, this is a beautifully designed bead that is sure to be lots of fun! There are so many designs this bead would be great in. I was thinking aside from circus and carnival themes it would work great in a medieval court Jester theme, too.
