Trollbeads Rose Lock Review

Today Beadsaholic brings a review of Trollbeads Rose Lock.

For Mother’s Day this year Trollbeads released a new Rose Lock. Over the past few years most Trollbeads Mother’s Day designs have had a rose theme and this year Trollbeads did not disappoint for those who love the rose theme. This lock lays flatter and is wide like the Balance Lily Lock, which I like. So, no worries about it being bulky and in the way when wearing.

” What’s in a name? That which we call a rose, by any other name would smell as sweet.” ~ Shakespeare

Trollbeads Rose Lock has a beautiful large open rose on each side with leaves by the lock itself. I love that the part that opens for the small end of the chain is also a leaf.  As I mentioned before this lock is a bit wider than other traditional locks and surprisingly it lays flat. This lock measures approximately 22.93 mm long x 12.30 mm wide and weighs 4.3 grams. Rose Lock retails for $72 / €65.

I decided to do a couple of floral themes featuring only Trollbeads, but you will find that this lock, also works well with other brands with similar bracelet systems.

In this composition I went with pastel pinks and greens. You will find beautiful light shades of pink in the Trollbeads Pearls, along with Lime Prisms, Rose Quartz, Voice of Happiness, Pink Conch, Hues of Wonder, Leaves, Daisy of April, Shelter, Rose of June, Maple Leaves, Joyful Flower, Seed Pods and leaves on a Trollbeads bracelet.

“With love and care the roses will bloom.”

In this composition I included some of the previous Mother’s Day beads in this bracelet theme I call Tea Party in the Garden. With Trollbeads glass beads Roses For Mom, Roses, Pink Diamonds, Pink Silver Trace, Flow of Love with silvers Rose, Leaves, Teacup, Rose of June, Cake Form, Maple Leaves on a Trollbeads Bracelet with the Rose Lock. I have placed this bracelet on a couple of different backgrounds to show how these beads pop.

I really love how the hot pinks pop on this black background.

Overall, the Rose Lock is beautiful, sturdy and the perfect addition to any collection. Will work with similar carriers. This Lock is simply timeless and beautiful.

  1. I want to buy a bracelet with the rose clasp. Can’t seem to get it through or see them together.

  2. the Rose Lock is not as I had hoped it would be. It is rather flat in comparison the the silver Rose bead from the birthday months beads. The lock is also quite dark as its antiquing is overdone and its polished shine makes the antique finish even darker. Also its size is disappointing, it is smaller than the locks which have raised flowers on them, unfortunately I forgot their names. All in all, I think Trollbeads could have done better.

    • I actually like it being flat and a bit wider than a normal troll lock. I don’t find the one I received as dark, the polishing is no different than my other locks. Sounds, like yours was over oxidized 😕. It is smaller than the Big Flower lock, though and I know some were hoping for more locks in that size. I think it’s a lock that will be appealing to some and not so much to others. When comparing to other flower locks. The rose design reminds me more of the Rose Pendant that came out years ago which is more like an English Rose. A lock like the Rose or June would be nice though.
