Today Beadsaholic brings a review of the Dream Glass Art Valentine’s Collection and Rainbow Bridge.
In celebration of Asian Tanabata Valentine’s Day Dream Glass Art has released a beautiful new collection that consist of a new glass Rainbow Rose, a new dangle Rose Bouquet, a new chain bracelet, and a Bear Buckle lock.
Asian Tanabata Valentine’s Day is inspired by the tale of The Cowherd symbolizing star Altair and Weaver Girl symbolizing the star Vaga. This love story was forbidden and both were banished to opposite sides of the heavenly river which symbolized the Milky Way. As the story goes once a year on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, a flock of magpies would form a bridge to reunite the star-crossed lovers for just the one day, once a year.
Dream Glass Art Rainbow Rose is a stunning glass bead with Rainbow Roses all the way around. This bead is available with either a white, black or red base encased in clear glass with the colorful roses. The bead I have is the white translucent base which really shows off the rainbow colors and matches the other rainbow colored glass beads offered by Dream Glass Art. This bead is rondelle shape and runs an average size of 15 mm high x 10 mm wide. I just love how chunky DGA glass beads are. Rainbow Rose retails for NT$1,980 / €57.28 / $67.49.
Roses in Ancient Greek Mythology symbolize love and beauty. It is not only the incarnation of the God of beauty, but also the blood of the God of love.
White Roses symbolize innocence, purity, respect, and humility.
Red Roses symbolize passion and love.
Black Roses symbolize Nobility and mystery.
The next two photos are courtesy of Dream Glass Art. They showcase the Red and Black base Rainbow Rose. I don’t have these, so I wanted to be sure to share photos so that you can choose the one that best fits your collection.
Dream Glass Art Rose Bouquet is a silver rose bead wrapped and closed with a bow, dangling from the bottom is an orb glass in your choice of red, black or white translucent glass. Mine is red symbolizing passion and love. What girl doesn’t love Roses? On the glass orb are rainbow roses all the way around. This bead measures from the top of the bead to the bottom of the glass 28.60 mm high x 10 mm wide. Rose Bouquet retails for NT$2,680 / €77.53 / $91.35.
Of course, I didn’t get all three in the Rose Bouquet design, so I’m including some photos of the other colors courtesy of Dream Glass Art. I really love that Translucent white!
Dream Glass Art has also introduced a new chain and lock to their collection that is truly a must have. I love the design of the chain and of course the Ma Lei Bear design on the lock is too cute.
Dream Glass Art Bear Buckle is a traditional style lock with a lobster type closure at both ends similar to the locks from Trollbeads and is completely compatible with similar bracelet systems. This lock features a standing Ma Lei Bear on one side and a sitting Ma Lei Bear on the other, you will also find hearts, and stars on the other sides. This lock measures approximately 22. 56 mm long x 15 mm high. Bear Buckle retails for NT$2,580 / €74.64 /87.94.
Dream Glass Art Basic Bracelet is a beautiful loose weave design in sterling silver. This is a nice chunky chain that will fit universal core beads. Please note, that sizes do not include the size of the lock. The chain is available in sizes 14 cm through 25 cm, this is great news for collectors with a large wrist as this is the only brand I know of that carries bracelets this large. The 25 cm would also make a great anklet. The Basic Bracelet retails for NT$1,600 / €46.29 / $54.54.
Dream Glass Art Rainbow Bridge was actually part of the June release, however, arrived with this new collection and since it matched so well, I thought it would be nice to review it with this release. Rainbow Bridge is a beautiful rainbow color barrel shaped glass with beautiful iridescent flecks throughout. This bead runs an average size of 15 mm high x 10 mm and retails for NT$1,880 / €54.39 / $64.08.
“Rainbow Bridge (Nordic Mythology): Rainbow Bridge (Bifrost, Bifröst, Old Scandinavian: Bilröst), which means “shaky road to heaven”. In Nordic mythology, it is a huge rainbow bridge connecting Asgard and Midgart (the atrium). The gods of the Aesir tribe (Aesir) meet every day along the Rainbow Bridge to the Wuerde Spring beside the World Tree. Heimdall is the guardian of this bridge, he is here to monitor the giants to prevent their intrusion on Asgard. Heimdall’s residence “Himinbjorg” has its hall at the end of the bridge. In the dusk of the gods, the Rainbow Bridge will be trampled down by giants such as Struer and collapsed. Most of the descriptions about Rainbow Bridge appear in “Prose Edda”, but “Poetry Eda” also mentions some. Some scholars believe that Bifrost originally referred to “Galaxy” in “Poetry Eda”, The re-interpretation of the author of “The Prose Edda”, Shlori Sturrasson, turned into a rainbow.” ~ Dream Glass Art
Now for some inspiration. I think this release with the addition of Rainbow Bridge are so perfect together and you don’t really need anything else. I have been wearing these just like this.
Feeling inspired by the story of the Cowherd and Weaver Girl I wanted to use Dream Glass Art Rainbow beads with the beautiful boy and girl Ma Lei Bears.
In this composition I am feeling inspired by passion and love with this all Dream Glass Art bracelet.
Another angle of the same bracelet.
Overall, this is such a beautiful new release that I think many will find appealing. Dream Glass Art glass beads are some of the most beautifully made glass beads on the market and their silver designs are so cute. I think this brand has a little something for everyone.
