Today Beadsaholic brings a review of Moress French Bulldog and Mixed Tourmaline Pavé.
In late October Moress Charm introduced their Dia de Muertos Collection. I have always had a soft spot for Day of the Dead Sugar Skulls, I love the way they look and the meaning to me is extra special. So, when I saw the French Bulldog Dia de Muertos I had to have it! My love, my fur-baby was killed in August and life has not been easy without her. I don’t think many realize what an important roll our pets play in our lives until they are taken tragically from us. So, even though my sweet girl was a chihuahua, this bead still had so much meaning for me. Being a sugar skull it represents the life and loss of my fur-babies. I celebrate the time I had with her and I look forward to one day seeing her again. I do have my fingers crossed for a chihuahua sugar skull, one day!
Dia de Muertos “Day of the Dead” is the Mexican version of All Saints Day and for some All Souls Day that is celebrated every year on November 1st and 2nd. It’s a day to celebrate the life of lost loved ones. Celebrations on this day range from small intimate candles, dinner, and prayer with family to huge festivals, where many gather and celebrate. At festivals many dress up and paint their face as skulls, often decorating them with flowers. Decorations are always bright, colorful and cheerful, you will find so many sugar skull mask, ceramics and even sweet sugar skull cookies. It’s not a day to mourn, but to celebrate their lives and the time we all had with them.
For some Sugar Skulls are a reminder to live life to the fullest, celebrate every day as if it’s the last. They remind us of our own mortality and not to take it for granted.
Moress Charm French Bulldog Dia de Muertos is such an adorable skeleton Dia de Muertos sugar skull style dog with cute detailing of flowers, bones, and a cute little heart on her chest. A bracelet threads through the head of this bead and the body slightly bobbles from the neck. You will find that the detailing is highlighted with colorful enamel. This bead is around 15 mm high x 8 mm wide and retails for ฿1,800 / €49.43 / $58.79. Stock is low, but will restock over the next week, so stay tuned.
Moress Charm Mixed Tourmaline Pavé is an open works orb of beautiful shades of tourmaline in greens, pinks, yellow and a peachy color. The stones are beautiful and clear, very nice quality. These beads are around 12 mm high x 11 mm wide and retails for ฿1,799.97 / €49.43 / $58.79. Sadly Mixed Tourmaline is currently sold out, but the good news is they will be back in stock by the end of the month! Moress carries this style of bead with different types of stones, you can see the full line on their website.
I really love the French Bulldog with PINK! I think mostly as it reminds me of my dogs and of course the little pink enamel accents.
In this composition I went with Trollbeads Roses, Joyful Flower, Moress French Bulldog, Mixed Tourmaline, Phya Pink Quartz on a Phya Bangle with Phya Rose of Venus Stoppers.
As you can see here, you can literally mix Moress Beads with all beads. I have placed the Moress French Bulldog with Elfpetite Glass, Aurora Frangipani on a Pandora Essence Bangle with Pandora Me Stoppers.
In this composition I went with another floral design because when I think of Dia de Muertos I not only think of sugar skulls, but loads of colorful flowers. I have framed the Moress French Bulldog with Trollbeads Anemone Pendant, Phya Pink Quartz on the Phya Bangle with Rose of Venus Stoppers.
Overall, both the French Bulldog and Pavé Mixed Tourmaline are stunning and I think you will find they mix well in any collection.
Of course, stock is currently low, but don’t worry if sold out they will both restock soon. You can shop for these and the entire line at the two links below.
