Today is the debut of the first release from the upcoming and promising new brand Black Raven Beads. Their first collection Self Healing is a theme we all need in our lives. Self-healing and focusing on positive and pushing out the negative is important for not only our mental health, but our physical health relies on the good hormones we release when we are happy, and have a positive mental state. Let’s face it, most of us don’t flow through life with rosy glasses on, it’s daily work and strive to be positive and have a self healing state of mind. There are many tools out there that can help us in our journey of wellness. With this in mind Black Raven has chosen Self Healing as their first release in hope that this collection will inspire you and help you find a balance in life.

Throughout life many of us experience trauma, stress and at time’s feel like we are on a rollercoaster of emotions without balance insight. Self-healing refers to the recovery process from our own psychological disruptions in life. We have the power within ourselves to seek balance and heal from within, even when we feel like we are drowning, dig deep and pull yourself out. Find the little things in life that help you focus on the positive.

One of my favorite themes in beads is one that promotes positive thought and brings me a sense of happiness. Sometimes, this may be beads from different religions, mythology and nature. I choose beads that speak to me and give me a sense of joy. In my years of collecting beads, I have met many collectors online and a few in person and one thing I find we all have in common is that many of us use our beads as therapy. For some we like to play with the beads on our wrist or necklace when we are nervous, it has a calming effect on us. Playing and creating with our beads gives us the same artistic feeling and releases serotonin and endorphins which in turn reduces the stress and damaging hormone cortisol.

Black Raven Balancing the Light and Dark is the only sterling silver in this collection, so far and I hope over time Black Raven will add more to this collection. This design is nicely detailed. On one side you will find a hand with a double moon design above its palm in the middle with a motif bulletin design around the edge of the circle for a nice detail touch. On the backside is a hand with the sun resting against the palm and the same detail edging around the circle. On the edge of the bead are raised stars. This bead measures approximately 12.85 mm high x 10.66 mm wide x 7.15 mm deep and has a universal core that will fit all major brands. Balancing the Light and Dark retails for €43, price includes vat.

Within us all is both light and dark and it’s important to find a balance of the two, both are important. Both help us grow and heal. There is beauty within both and we must appreciate and accept.

Black Raven Love Yourself is a stunning glass bead inspired by Himalayan Pink salt. Himalayan salt has many benefits, not just internally (in moderation), but externally. In some areas of the world, including where I live, you can find salt therapy caves (halotherapy) where you relax in a room (cave-like) of pink salt and breath in the filtered infused salty air. In this cave you will relax, meditate and take deep breaths and release. As you breath in you will absorb trace minerals. The salt within the cave has a detox effect on your body, your respiratory system and even your skin. These salts contain and produce negatively-charged ions which in turn helps us release more serotonin, the feel good hormone. This chemical reaction helps improve mood and sleep by reducing anxiety and stress. On a spiritual level it purifies and rejuvenates your energy fields, removes negative energies helping you achieve spiritual and emotional balance.

This beautiful glass bead has a neutral orange to rust colors with a reflective sheen throughout. Black Raven Heal Yourself is a bead inspired by the beneficial herb Rosemary. We all know the benefits of eating Rosemary herbs in our foods, but did you know that just breathing in the natural aroma scent of Rosemary has fantastic benefits for our brains? It helps clear and refresh and improve our brains functions. It has been proven in studies that inhaling Rosemary helps prevent the breakdown of acetylcholine, an important natural chemical in our brain that is responsible for critical thinking, concentration and memory. It helps in reducing stress and anxiety. Through inhalation our body can, also absorb small amounts of the beneficial compounds found in Rosemary. Extracted oils from the plant have been used to massage the scalp to reduce Alopecia and stimulate hair growth. Black Raven Balance Yourself is a another beautiful glass inspired by Himalayan Salts and it’s balancing effects on our moods. Mixing these salts with some skin soothing oils and lavender can create a healing nurturing exfoliant for our skin.

I find this bead to be a tad lighter than Love Yourself and has some peachy undertones with the magical sheen. It matches and complements the other beads in this collection nicely. These bead measures approximately 13.64 mm high x 9.29 mm wide. Like all the beads in this collection it will fit all major brand carriers. Please note, that size and color can slightly vary as these beads are handmade.

“Balance Yourself – “Keep taking time for yourself until you are you again.” Himalaya salt is a great neutralizer to heal and balance your energy field. It is also used as cleansing salt and enhances the feeling of peace and calmness. Lavender flowers represent purity, silence, devotion, serenity, grace, and tranquillity. Lavender is used in aromatherapy. The fragrance from the oils of the lavender plant helps promote calm and wellness.

Black Raven Cleanse Yourself is inspired by the sacred herb sage. In certain religions, practices, rituals and cultures, especially Native Americans, sage in smudge sticks is burned to allow the smoke to cleanse your body and structures. This common practice cleans negative energies from individual and surrounding spaces. It is also used in ceremonies. Now days you can find smudge sticks made of sage and other herbs in just about any store. I have found them locally in grocery, general merchandise, dollar stores and specialty shops. There are many species of Sage and each have unique and different benefit. I have three types of sage growing in my garden alongside many other beneficial herbs including three Rosemary bushes and lavender.

Black Raven Cleanse Yourself is a beautiful mixture of earth tones in greens, browns and burnt orange. Like all the other glass beads in this collection it has a beautiful metallic sheen and fits all major brand carriers. This bead measures approximately 13.62 mm high x 9.09 mm wide.

“Cleanse yourself – “I remove all negative energy and only allow positive energy to enter.” Burning sage is a practice in cleansing and healing. You may want to burn sage to cleanse yourself or a space. Maybe a new apartment you want a fresh start in or a room in your house where something negative took place. Burning sage has roots in Native American traditions. The practice is known as the sacred smoke bowl blessing, which has been used for centuries. Dried herbs, especially white sage, are burned in a bowl, and the smoke spreads to help dispel negative energy and spirits and promote wisdom and healing.” ~ Black Raven
