Today Beadsaholic brings a review of Black Raven Beads Enchantress Collection.

Today sees the debut of Black Raven Beads Enchantress Collection just in time for Halloween. However, I think you will find this collection can be used in different compositions throughout the year.

I am one with nature, a bit of a spiritual moon-child, flower-child hippie and have a garden full of herbs, though our harsh summer this year was rather hard on the garden. I do like to harvest my own herbs for cooking and self-healing. So, I am very excited for the Witch Mortar and Sage Bundle that will be in many of my bracelets throughout the year. I’d love to see more herb bundles in the future, so keep your fingers crossed. But, in the meantime this is a fantastic release! The Witch Mortar is so cute with little mushrooms and bundles of herbs sticks around the bottom of the Mortar, there is an ornate design around the lip with a sun on one side and a moon on the other. Inside is a mix of herbs and the pestle! The Sage Bundle is fresh picked sage, wrapped with twine ready to hang to dry. There is an adorable crescent moon charm that hangs from the twine on one side.

The Aries Skull is edgy and a talisman of protection. I have collected skulls for years as they are a symbol of our own mortality, so I love the addition of the Aries Skull and Skull Candle. The Skull Candle gives me Edgar Allen Poe vibes, which is one of my favorite Poets’. So, I know an EAP composition is in my future! Now I just need a few more beads to make that happen or maybe Black Raven will read my wishes? Maybe! The Skull Candle has a snake that wraps around and weaves through the holes in the skull and there is a used dripping candle on the top. I imagine a time without electricity reading a book of shadows by candle. The snake with the skull is symbolic of the cycle of life and represents both death and rebirth.

The Magic Cauldron is magical and every Witch needs one! I’m a ginger and have always been drawn to the occult, Halloween is my favorite Holiday and I enjoy this time of the year and everything that goes a long with it. As a child witch stories were always my favorite during Halloween and some of my favorite movies are about witches like Hocus Pocus, Practical Magic and The Craft just to name a few. Plus shows like Bewitched, Charmed, Discovery of Witches and there are so many new shows on my Netflix watch list that are magical that I can’t wait to binge watch! Though Cauldrons weren’t used in all these shows, they are hugely symbolic of stories of a bubbling cauldron sitting over a hot fire under a full moon with Witches dancing around their magical potion, manifesting their desires. In today’s age small cauldrons are used for manifestations, and offerings to our ancestors and are tied to ancient pagan beliefs. Many are adorned with the Triple Goddess Symbol which symbolizes the life phases of a woman or in this case the Goddess – a young lady, mother, and crone. What would you like to manifest in your life? You don’t have to have magical powers to manifest and attract a life that is good.

Now for the best part and inspiration! Of course, playing and creating different compositions is the fun part of bead collecting. I’ve created a few bangles and bracelets.

For this bangle I went for a more edgy unisex look. I’ve combined Black Raven Gemstones with their Shadow book, Aries Skull and Skull Candle on this Manterra bangle with Skull end caps to complete the look.

Of course, mini bangle compositions are fast, fun and easy, but a full bracelet really tells a story. All gems, wooden beads and silvers in this composition are Black Raven. Can you spot the Moth?

I really love the Sage Bundle! We need more!! Maybe a bundle of Rosemary, Lavender, thyme? Would be amazing. Of course, while I was thinking of all the bundles that would nice to have, it inspired me to add purple and green gems for sage and lavender. I also used the Ginkgo stoppers to finish off this bangle.

The colors in this bracelet are my favorite and the color used most often to represent magic is purple. All glass, gems and silvers are Black Raven. I love using the candle from You are the Light or Be the Light set in my witchy designs. Which can be seen between the Shadow and Book of Spells. Do you feel the energy from all these stones? I just love looking at and the feel of gems! It is just amazing and the true magic is by nature.

This last bangle is Halloween inspired with the Book of Spells, Magic Cauldron and the cute Witch House.

Overall, I truly love this release! Each design is beautifully detailed and will mix well in any collection. Black Raven Beads fit all major carriers and you will find the sizes similar and they mix well.
